Pothencode: ‘I have understood through experience that Guru will be with us in times of crisis’, said Janani Shyamaroopa Jnana Thapaswini today (3-10-2022) while sharing her experience in the meeting held at the spiritual zone auditorium of Santhigiri Ashram.

‘The covid epidemic was spreading while I was studying for MD in Tirunelveli. At that time a pass was required to go out anywhere. The hospital where I was studying was fil’I have understood through experience that Guru will be with us in times of crisis’, said Janani Shyamaroopa Jnana Thapaswiniled with covid patients. All my classmates had gone home. Due to the government rules, it became difficult for me to go home. I was alone in the hostel. In the meanwhile, I received Guru’s instructions to go to Madurai Ashram. Miraculously, an Atmabandhu came there and helped me to go from there the next day. No pass was required to reach Madurai via Chennai by bus. I can testify that Guru’s grace watches over us during such crises,’ Janani said.

‘My family came to the Ashram seeking treatment for the illness of a family member. I was only two year’s old then. It was a turning point in life. My ashram life started after the ceremony of Gurukula Brahma Niveditham was performed. During all those times, I used to come and see Guru after school hours. Guru used to give us prasadam. When the elder Jananis lovingly admonished us for our mischief, Guru would not rebuke, he would just laugh.

‘When we are with Guru, there should be Bhakti( devotion), Vinayam (humility) and firm faith in Guru. These qualities are fundamental. Be polite and respectful towards each other. When I asked Guru to change my name in my previous stage of life, Guru said, “She will be given a bigger name.” It became literally true after my initiation into Sannyasa.

‘When I became a Siddha doctor from Santhgiri Siddha Medical College, I was advised to study further for M.D. After 8 years when I went to Tirunelveli to get my MD, Shishya Poojitha Janani said that I should stay in the college hostel. After a lot of searching, the accommodation was found inside the hostel. One day I could not eat because the hostel served meat. That time, I had a vision. Guru was seen sitting there. There was a red banana with him. Soon the hostel warden arrived with red bananas. The fruit received by the grace of Guru was shared with everyone. My hunger too was satisfied. Wherever I went I felt the the presence of Guru with me’, Janani said.

Today, on the eighth day of Sannyasi Deeksha Varshikam, four members of the Gurudharma Prakasha Sabha shared their experiences with Guru.
