Santhigiri Ayurveda & Siddha Vaidyasala

Santhigiri Ayurveda & Siddha Vaidyasala, the licensed and GMP Certified unit of Santhigiri Ashram, is concerned with the manufacture of Ayurveda and Siddha Medicines, since more than two decades. The unit had a humble beginning with the hands of the founder Guru of Santhigiri Ashram – Navajyothi Sree Karunakara Guru, during the year 1974, with the aim of becoming the backbone for the healthcare activities of the parent organization, which is weaved as one among the triad strategies of the Ashram.

The medicines and allied products from the unit are being consumed by the five hundred plus healthcare endeavours under the parent organization. As a whole a greater part of the produce reaches the hands of needy, through various philanthropic activities, like medical camps, village adoption programmes, preventive healthcare programmes and projects.

Being a part of the parent organization with a wide range of activities, the unit is continuously monitored, evaluated and improved by other bodies under the parent organization such as Santhigiri Research Foundation, Santhigiri Siddha Medical College and Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College.

PRODUCTS

The Vaidyasala is manufacturing a wide range of quality products concerned with the ­management of various ailments, as well as to promote health. The licensed product range of the unit consists of, 203 Classical Ayurveda, 106 Classical Siddha, 71 Proprietary Ayurveda, 19 Proprietary Siddha and 6 Food Supplements. The product range is being expanded from time to time.

NEW ADDITIONS

Vallarai Tablet

The Vallarai Tablet imbibes all the goodness of the herb Centella asiatica and each tablet carries ­equivalent benefit of about 5 g of fresh plant.

Dosage: 1 to 2 tabs, Twice daily

Indication(s): Weakness, Diseases of the brain, Abdominal discomfort, Diarrhoea, Stomatitis, Insomnia, Poor Memory. It is an effective nerve tonic.

Keezharnelli Tablet

Each Keezharnelli Tablet carries equivalent benefit of about 5 g of fresh herb Phyllanthus niruri.

Dosage: 1 to 2 Tablets, Twice daily

Indication(s): Increased body heat, Jaundice, Fever, Leucorrhoea. Protects and nourishes the liver.

Triphala Tablet

‘Triphala’ is a wonderous combination of the pericarps of three officinal tender fruits. The therapeutic applications of this effective combination is far beyond ­compare. It rejuvenates the body in toto.

Each Triphala Tablet carries equivalent benefit of about 2.5 g of dried Triphala Powder.

Dosage: 1 to 2 Tablets, Twice daily

Indication(s): Cough, Wheezing, Diabetes mellitus, Indigestion, Peptic ulcer, Can act as a general health promoter, Gentle bowel tonic, Respiratory decongestant.

Impooral Tablet

Impooral – Oldenlandia umbellata, is a herb, which has long been in use as an effective medicine against cough, haemoptysis, fever, flatulence etc.

Each Impooral Tablet contains 650 mg of the dried powder of the herb.

Dosage: 1 to 2 Tablets, Twice daily

Indication(s): Cough, Nasal Congestion, Chest Congestion, Haemoptysis, Fever.

Neerkovai Tablet

Neerkovai is a classical Siddha formulation, long been in use as an effective decongestant.

Dosage: For External Application Only

Indication(s): Headache, Nasal Congestion

Mathulai Manappaku

Manappagu is a type of medicinal formulation, that consolidates and preserves the goodness of some officinal material, especially seasonal fruits. These types of ­formulations are called ‘Pānakam’ in Ayurveda and ‘Sharbat’ in Unani.

Mātulai Manappagu is one such formulation in Siddha, that consolidates the ­ineffable therapeutic benefits of Ripe Pomegranate Fruit.

Dosage: 10 to 15 mL, Twice daily, with tepid water

Indication(s): Indigestion, Increased body heat, Anaemia, Palor, Vomiting, Burning sensation of Hands & Soles, Morning sickness. Can act as a general health promoter, Can act as a protector of heart.

Amukkura Tablet

It is the tablet form of Amukkura Choornam, composed of Syzygium aromaticum, Mesua ferrea, Elettaria cardamomum, Piper nigrum, Piper longum, Zingiber officinale, Withania somnifera as its ingredients.

Dosage: 1 to 2 Tablets, Twice daily

Indication(s): Indigestion, Peptic Ulcers, Splenomegaly, Pain, Leucorrhoea, Anaemia.

Dhathryarishtam

It is a Classical Ayurveda Formulation, long been in use as a general health tonic for all age groups.

Dosage: 15 to 30 mL, Twice daily, with tepid water

Indication(s): Anaemia, Jaundice, Cardiovascular Diseases, Circulatory Insufficiencies, Fever, Cough, Hiccup, Anorexia, Other Respiratory Ailments.

Can be used as a general health tonic and as an Immunomodulator.

Kanchanara Gulgulu

It is a Classical Ayurveda Formulation, which is chiefly employed in the management of oedemas, and inflammations inside the body, and in the management of thyroid dysfunction.

Dosage: 1 Pill, once in the morning.

Indication(s): Cervical Lymphadenopathy, Oedemas, Injuries, Skin diseases, Fistula.

Gudoochi Satwa – The medicinal aqueous extraction from Tinospora cordifolia.

SIDDHA SPECIAL MEDICINES

Vetpalai Thailam – The proven traditional Siddha formulation, long been in practise for the management of skin diseases characterised by excess dryness and scaling, chiefly for Psoriasis.

Seenthil Sarkkarai – The medicinal aqueous extraction from Tinospora cordifolia.

Vempadampattai Thailam – It is an external oil, with the bark of Ventilago ­madraspatana as its chief ­ingredient. It can effectively be used in cases of Ulcers, Eczema, Scabies, Minor ­Toxic Bites and Pruritus.
