Karnataka seeks Rs. 8,071 Cr flood relief from center

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has sought Rs. 8,071 crores flood relief from the center.

CM BS Yediyurappa handed over the details of loss due to the flood, landslides and rain to a central government team visiting the state and urged the central government to release the amount at the earliest.

The CM informed the central team that standing crops in 4.03 lakh hectares have been damaged in the rain related incidents.

He also submitted the list of infrastructure, human lives lost in the rain-induced calamities.

The CM informed the central team that Rs.200 crores has been spent on flood relief works till now in the state. As state is spending a huge sum on the Covid 19 relief works, he requested the central team to recommend maximum relief to the state.
