Bengaluru: The state government has withdrawn permission accorded to Ayurveda doctors to prescribe allopathic drugs in emergencies. An order in this regard was issued on Tuesday evening.

Earlier, the state government had allowed the Ayurveda doctors to undergo six months of training in the district hospitals for this purpose. Following the training, the ayurvedic doctors were allowed to prescribe allopathic medicines in emergencies.

However, now based on a recent Supreme Court judgment, the state government has withdrawn this permission.
