Santhigiri Ashram Vice President passes away

Thiruvananthapuram : Swami Paripoorna Njana Thapaswi, V-President of Santhigiri Ashram, Pothencode, passed away at a private hospital here on Tuesday 2nd of March. He was admitted to hospital on February 24 as he was suffering from meningitis, Parkinson’s disease, and stroke in addition to geriatric diseases.Funeral rituals will be held at 3.00pm tomorrow ,Wednesday 3rd of March at Santhigiri Ashram premises.

Swami Paripoorna Jnanathapaswi (formerly known as Balakrishnan TV) was the second son of KP Raman and KV Paru Amma at Thaivilappil near Kannur Kannapuram railway station. After completing his education at Cherukunnam Government High School, he got a job in the Air Force. There he received expert training in automobile engineering. He was retired from the Air Force after 17 years of service. Siblings: Kunhiraman. TV, Savitri TV, Lakshmanan TV, Chandramathy TV, Karunakaran TV, Rajan TV,. In 1973, he married Yashoda from Kannur. The children are B. Uma and B. Aravind. Uma’s husband is Sherin Chompala. Janani Nanmapriya Jnanathapaswini, from Shanthigiri Ashram Gurudharmaprakash Sabha is his niece.
On July 16, 1999, he was ordained to Sanyasa by Navajyothi Srikarunakara Guru, the founder of the Ashram. He was able to make invaluable contributions behind the present progress of the Ashram. The first vehicle purchased at the ashram was a KRTC bus and Swami was one of those who took the initiative to buy that vehicle. It was in this bus that Guru later made a long pilgrimage inside and outside Kerala.

During the opening of the Sultan Bathery Branch of the Santhigiri Ashram, Swami was appointed to coordinate the activities of the Ashram there. It was during this period that he took the initiative to develop the activities at Sultanbatheri Ashram. In addition, when the Ashram started a branch in Indraprastha, in the early days (2003-2005) Paripoorna Swami was appointed in charge of it. Since then he has been in charge of the Ashram Vehicle Department and the Ashram Treasurer for a long time. In addition, Swami Paripoorna was able to serve as the Director of the Ashram and later as the Vice President of the Ashram for eight long years.
