Karnataka COVID tally hits 313: 34 new cases, one death registered

Bengaluru: A 66-year-old man infected with the coronavirus died here at Victoria hospital, taking the total number of Covid-19 deaths to 13 in the state, a health department official said on Thursday.

“The person infected with the disease was referred to Victoria hospital from a private hospital, where he was on ventilator support since March 10”, the official said.

Later, on Wednesday the man succumbed to Covid-19.

The state also witnessed 34 new cases on April 16 (12 noon). 

Out of these Belagavi registered highest cases with 17 new cases. Vijayapura had seven, Bengaluru Urban had five cases, Mysuru had three cases, Kalaburgi and Gadag has one case each.

With this, the number of deaths caused by Covid-19 reached 13 in the state, whereas the total positive cases stood at 313.
