Newly elected members of local bodies assume charge

The swearing -in ceremony of the elected members of the local self government bodies in the state are in progress.The elected members to three tier panchayats and municipalities took oath first in the function that started at 10.am .The swearing in of elected members to corporations started by 11.30.The District collectors administered the oath to the senior -most member of the lot.The function is being held as per covid protocols. After taking oath the first meeting the elected members will be held.All members who are Covid positive or in quarantine were asked ti arrive wearing PPE.
