Thiruvananthapuram: Santhigiri Ashram General Secretary Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi said that for world peace, religious organizations, and spiritual movements should envisage a world with unity and fill human minds with love and brotherhood. Swami was speaking at the inauguration of the World Peace Summit held at KKM International Hotel, Thiruvananthapuram as part of the United Nations Religious Harmony Week. The development of humanity should be redefined with the aim of interfaith harmony and world peace. Swamy also opined that while addressing social inequalities, they should be resolved peacefully without conflict to build a more harmonious world.

World Peace Summit Chairman Guru Dilipji Maharaj presided over the event and Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Metropolitan Dr. Geevarghese Mar Iulios, World Buddhist Mission President Ravi Medhankar, New Delhi Bahais Director Neelakshi Rajkhowa, URI South India Region Coordinator Prof. Dr. Abraham Karikam, World Yoga Community Global Council Member Sasikumar MD, Thiruvananthapuram ISKCON In-Charge Bhakti Shastri HG Manohar Gouradas, South Indian Lutheran Archdiocese Major Archbishop Dr. Robinson D. The summit is organized under the joint auspices of United Religious Initiative South India Region, World Yoga Community New York, Interfaith Dialogue for Sustainable Development Goals (IRD4SDG), Santhigiri Ashram, University of Madras and Cosmic Community Center. The summit will be held in various sessions and will feature discussions, paper presentations, and panel discussions on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by leading experts in the fields of spiritual, social, and cultural research. MP Ram Chander Jangra will inaugurate the closing session on Sunday, February 10, 2024) at 5 pm. Religious harmony prayer, distribution of certificates, awarding, and artistic programs will be held in connection with the function.
