Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi in ​​Belgaum

Belgaum (Karnataka): Santhigiri Ashram General Secretary Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi has reached Belgaum, Karnataka and met former MP and eminent businessman Amar Vasant Rao Patil.

The visit is in connection with the expansion of the Ashram activities in Belgaum. The Swami’s visit is in response to the invitation of the hosts during their visit to Pothencode Santhigiri Ashram. The Swami received a warm welcome when he arrived at Mr. Amar Patil’s residence at Raibag in Belgaum on Thursday afternoon. He later visited various institutions of the group. Mr. Amar’s wife Bhagyashree Patil was also present at the meeting along with George Sebastian, General Secretary of the Federation of Christian Organizations of India.

Mr. Amar Vasant Rao Patil is a former Member of Parliament, a prominent businessman and educationist from Belgaum. He is running about one hundred and fifty institutions including schools, colleges, nursing colleges and industrial institutions in Karnataka. Mr. Amar Vasant Rao Patil is the son of Mr. Vasant Rao Patil, a freedom fighter, three-time Karnataka Minister and five-time Karnataka Assembly Member. He had invited the Swami to Belgaum during his visit to the ashram on May 13 last. During the visit, he had expressed interest in setting up an Ashram and Ayurvedic Center of Santhigiri at Raibag, a center of agriculture, especially sugarcane cultivation.
