Three-tier panchayats to elect presidents, vice presidents today

The district panchayats,block panchayats and Grama panchayats in the state will elect new president and vice president on Wednesday.Following the election, the oath taking ceremony of the new heads will be conducted.District panchayats election wll be held at 11 am followed by vice president election at 2 pm ,the election will be held as per the COVID 19 protocol at respective district panchayats council hall. District collectors will take leadership of the election to select heads for the district panchayat. Presidents will administer the oath to office to vice president. Kerala has 941 grama panchayats,152 block panchayats, and 14 district panchyats. Election to the chairperson and vice chairperson post in municipalities and the mayor and the deputy mayor posts in the corporation was held on monday.
