Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi will be Special Guest at Mysuru Suttur Jatra Mahotsavam

Mysuru: Santhigiri Ashram General Secretary Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi will grace the community wedding to be held at the Mysuru Suttur Jathra Mahotsav on February 7. Jathra festivals are celebrated every year from Pushya Bahula Dwadashi to Magha Shuddha Bidige at Sri Suttur Sreekshetra to commemorate the divine memory of Adi Jagadguru Sri Shivaratreeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji. During the Jathra Mahotsava, many rituals and events take place including Rathotsava on Masa Shivaratri and Teppotsava on Magha Suddha Padyami. The six-day celebrations include various spiritual, educational and cultural activities that help in the overall development of the society.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddharamaiah will inaugurate the community marriage which will be held on the second day of February 7 at 10 am. Santhigiri Ashram General Secretary Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi and Jagadguru Sri Niranjananandapuri Maharaj of Sri Kanakaguru Peetha, Kaginele will be the special guests. Social Welfare Department Minister Dr. HC Mahadevappa will preside over the function while Energy Minister K.J. George, Minister of Horticulture, Mines and Geology S.S. Mallikarjun will distribute the gold ornaments for the wedding. Panchayatiraj Rural Development Minister Priyank Kharge and Ports, Fisheries, Inland Transport Minister Mankala S Vaidya will distribute certificates and take oath. Karnataka Chief Minister’s Political Secretary Dr. K. Govindaraju, Karnataka Assembly Leader of Opposition Arvind Bellad, MLA and Former Minister H.D. Revanna, Bannari Amman Sugars Pvt. Limited President S.V. Balasubramaniam, Maryland USA Veerappan, Bengaluru businessman Moolchand Nehar and Suguna Sivanand from Toronto, Canada will be the Chief Guests.
