Youth Must Play a Vital Role in the Goal of ‘Vikasita Bharat’ (Developed India): Union Minister V. Muraleedharan

Pothencode (Thiruvananthapuram): Union Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muralidharan said that the youth should play a vital role in achieving the goal of Developed India. The Minister was speaking at the inauguration of the District Level Youth Parliament organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra at Santhigiri Siddha Medical College in partnership with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Countries of the world are looking forward to India’s growth today. The progress of the country is possible only with the participation of the people. He opined that the young generation should discuss the development dreams to be implemented in the country in twenty-five years with far-sightedness and youth parliaments should be used as a platform for that.

Anand Vijayan from Kollam who won first place in the state-level speech competition organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra on the topic ‘Ente Bharatham, Vikasita Bharatham’ got Rs.1 lakh. Anusha A.S. from Thiruvananthapuram who won the second place got Rs. fifty thousand. The winners of the third prize Sobin Thomas and Siddhi J. Nair received Rs. twenty-five thousand each, and the minister also awarded them certificates at the function. Certificates were also distributed to the winners of a quiz competition organized based on the Prime Minister’s radio program Man Ki Baath.

Nehru Yuva Kendra State Director Anilkumar M presided over the function. Press Information Bureau Additional Director General V. Palanichamy IIS, Santhigiri Health Care & Research Organization Head Swami Gurusavidh Jnana Thapasvi, Central University Ex-Registrar Dr. A. Radhakrishnan Nair, District Officer Sandeep Krishnan, Jayakumar Pallalipuram, Vasanth Krishnan and Padmakumari.D participated in the function. The program was attended by more than 400 students and held classes and discussions on topics like Mera Yuva Bharat Registration Portal, New India- New Initiatives, Mann Ki Baat, and Sports- India’s Soft Power. The Model Parliament program in the afternoon was a new experience for the students.
