Santhigiri’s ideology is a great vision of equality – Minister Veena George

Pothencode (Thiruvananthapuram): Kerala Health Minister Veena George said that in this era where narrow-minded distinctions are emerging, Santhigiri is putting forward a great vision of equality and that the various stages/venues of the Ashram are an example of this. The Minister was speaking while inaugurating the concluding session of the Santhigiri Navapoojitham celebrations. It is the Gurus who have taught the need to maintain five-dimensional purity (‘Panchashudhi’) in life. The words of Guru are very relevant today. The Minister said that Santhigiri is becoming a necessity of the current times as a haven of peace and harmony.
Syro-Malankara Catholic Church Major Archbishop His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos presided over the function. He said that Santhigiri has become a symbol of the general public by bringing people from different walks of life on the same platform in this era where one can think and act alone. Tourism Minister P. A. Muhammad Riyas inaugurated the Vidyanidhi project on the occasion. Santhigiri Ashram General Secretary Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi, President Swami Chaitanya Jnana Thapaswi, Vice President Swami Nirmohatma Jnana Thapaswi, Changanassery Archdiocese Auxiliary Bishop Dr. Mar Thomas Tharayil, Palayam Imam V. P. Dr. Suhaib Moulavi, Chairman of Irshadiya Group of Institutions Syed Muhammad Al-Qasimi and others graced the occasion with their revered presence. Dr. Shashi Tharoor MP was honoured on the occasion. MP Kodikunnil Suresh, A.A. Rahim, Chemmanur International Group Chairman Dr. Boby Chemmanur, MLA M. Nashad, George Onakkoor, Rajiv Anchal, ISRO Director Dr. S. Unnikrishnan Nair, former MLA. Raju Abraham, Travancore Devaswom Board President Adv. A. Ananthagopan, Member of Women’s Commission Shahida Kamal, Chairman of the Cultural Welfare Fund Board K. Madhupal, Dr. Punalur Somarajan and M. P. Muhammad participated in the function. Santhigiri Ashram Director Swami Navananma Jnana Thapaswi delivered the welcome speech and Sr. General Manager D. Pradeep Kumar gave the vote of thanks. Deepa Pradakshina was held at 8 pm. Later, various art programs of the Viswasamskrithi Kalarengam were also presented. The celebrations of this year’s Navapoojitham will be dedicated on the 20th of September, for the Poorna Kumbhamela.
