Gujurat on rise -Covid

Gujarat on Tuesday recorded 362 cases and 24 deaths in 24 hours ending pm. The state also recorded discharge of 466 Covid -19 patients. It’s the highest single -day discharge for the state and second instance where 400 – plus patients have been discharged in a day. As on Tuesday evening, Gujarat is second only to Maharashtra in terms of total cases in India.

In a glaring instance of apathy towards safety needs of frontline warriors against Covid -19 , close to a 100 resident doctors and paramedic staff at SVP hospital at Ellis bridge went on a flash strike complaining they were not issued N95 respirators and PPE equipment —basic safety gear required by medicos in the Covid-19 frontline .

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday confirmed that there would be a fourth phase of lockdown, but said it’s contours would be very different from the rules that shaped the three national lockdowns since March 25, with the last schedule to end on May 17.
