Guru Is Experience and a Miracle – Janani Abheda Jnana Thapaswini

“Manju”

Santhigiri: “Guru is an experience and a miracle when you understand it in depth,” said Janani Abheda Jnana Thapaswini while sharing her experience in the Meeting held in the morning at the Spiritual Zone Conference Hall on the sixth day of the 38th Sannyasa Deeksha Varshikam celebrations of Santhigiri Ashram. Janani narrated her first visit to the Ashram and her meeting with Guru. It took place at a time when the public was not aware of the Ashram and there was a lot of criticism against it. It was Guru’s love that brought her closer to the Guru, she said.

She was allowed to come and perform Guru Pooja with her family members. About twenty-five people from the family came to the Ashram on the day of Guru Pooja. Guru welcomed everyone with a smile. Janani said that when she saw the Guru, a huge circle of light was seen around Guru. While she was praying, she had an indescribable experience, and could not even get up. She participated in the prayers and various other activities on the day of Guru Pooja.

After the worship at 3’0 clock, the Guru spoke for a long time. “You don’t have to believe me. There is the ultimate truth here. You must understand that truth and act. Then the truth will become clear through experience…” Guru had said. Guru told us that there was a big evil in the family and after doing Guru Pooja it was removed, and now the family will have some luck, and at least one child in the family should choose the path of sannyasa. Janani informed Guru about the visions she had received at a time when she did not even know what is sannyasa. Guru instructed her to reveal them when the appropriate time comes.

In 1979, the Guru did a great performance through seven people. It was a journey that lasted for 112 days. Guru was making them do this great performance before the Kumbh Mela. Janani said that her father who later accepted Sannyasa (Swami Pushkaran Jnana Thapaswi) was in that group, which travelled through different parts of the country, sleeping on the veranda of temples or roadside shops.

Sannyasa is a resolve. We should be able to take that resolve in life and should be able to truthfully live up to the life of Sannyasa given by Guru, she said. ‘I had the luck of serving in branch ashrams since 2016. It was through the service at the branch ashrams that I could know, see and feel how Guru works through each one of us. Janani added that although there was difficulty at first, we realized that the Guru was making us more capable in the field of work.
