Pothencode : Sannyasa Requires Focus and Devotion; Swami Snehatma Jnana Thapaswi. Concentration and devotion are essential for those who get initiated into Sannyasa, otherwise there is no point in Sannyasya. Having evolved into a human after several births in different wombs, let the bindings of previous lives be freed, said Swami Snehatma Jnana Thapaswi in the Satsang held on Sunday (2-10-2022) at 8.30 pm on the occasion of Sannyas Deeksha Varshikam of Santhigiri Ashram.

The Swami said that ‘If we want to purify Pitrus we have to lead a fruitful life and for that we have to walk alone in the crowd. A sannyasi’s home evolves into a world-renowned one because of the life of a sannyasi. We should suppress the ashtaragas, the eightfold bindings, and live in harmony. We have to fight with ourselves, and the defects ingrained in our inner soul by way of vasanas will occasionally rear their heads and create obstacles in the path. It can only be suppressed and reformed through one’s self-sacrifice. You may get rebukes and punishments from many places, but you should consider it all for good and acquire the ability to survive and face the difficulties with a smile.

‘Brahmacharis should acquire the virtues of purity of food, purity of body, purity of speech, purity of soul, purity of deeds. Pray to Guru fervently. Each of you must walk on the straight path. You should walk on this path of karma as an opportunity given by the Guru. Don’t fight over small things. One should be able to pray earnestly in the morning and in the evening, and attain the simplicity and calmness in dress, behavior, and speech. Saying ‘Sath Guruve Saranam’ while greeting each other should be made a habit because Guru resides in the heart of everyone. Swami reminded that this moment came after so many births, so the prayer to be able to fulfill this karma according to the will of Guru should always be there in the mind.
