Shantigiri Gurusthaniya has a huge turnout in Nambiarkun

Sultan Bathery: The Gurusthaneeya (Guru Apparent) of Santhigiri Ashram, Her Holiness Shishyapoojitha Amritha Jnana Thapaswini, was welcomed to Nambiarkunnu in a grand reception ceremony. Her Holiness Shishyapoojitha, who arrived there for the consecration ceremony, was welcomed by locals, devotees, sanyasis and sanyasinis with “Poornakumbhams” (sacred earthen pots filled with holy water).

Shishyapoojitha reached the ‘Adiparnasala’ at Nambiarkunnu on Tuesday evening at 8 pm. Devotees holding deepams and ‘muthukudas’ (traditional decorative umbrellas) lined up on both sides for a distance of 500 meters along the stretch of the Ashram premises and the Gurusthaneeya walked along this stretch with hands folded in prayer – an indescribably blissful, divine atmosphere. The ‘Adiparnasala’ became the center of God’s realization with the amalgamation of percussive instruments, Pranavamantra and Eadikavadan by famous sopana musician Njeralath Harigovindan.

When Shishyapoojitha reached Wayanad, a land blessed with the visit of Navajyothi Sree Karunakara Guru, it evoked memories of Guru’s various pilgrimages with the many early Ashram devotees.

As the pilgrimage reached the Ashram premises, accompanied by several musical instruments, the Ashram was graced with the chanting of ‘Akhandanamam’.

Shishyapoojitha left for Nambiarkunnu from the Central Ashram at Pothencode along with Santhigiri Ashram President Swami Chaitanya Jnana Thapaswi, General Secretary Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi, several members of the Sanyasasabha and almost 100 other devotees. Shishyapoojitha travelled from Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur by air, and then reached Sultan Bathery by road.

The Santhigiri Ashram Nambiarkunnu Branch is situated in a very scenic spot atop a hill. Gurusthaneeya Shishyapoojitha is the Word and the Way of the spiritual affairs of Santhigiri Ashram. Only on rare occasions, for very important pilgrimages does Shishyapoojita leave the central ashram. Shishyapoojitha is now gracing the land of Sultan Bathery after 18 years.

The consecration ceremony of the Ashram will be conducted today morning at 9 o’clock in the Ashram. An image of our beloved Guru will be installed in the Parnasala. After the ceremony, darsan will be happening for all the devotees and locals. On the 7th of April, after worship and prayers, the pilgrimage will continue on to Kakkodi Ashram at 2 pm.
