Sannyasa Deeksha Anniversary at Santhigiri; Twenty-two people Received Initiation from Gurusthaneeya Sishyapoojitha.

Pothencode (Thiruvananthapuram): On the occasion of the thirty-ninth Sannyasa Deeksha anniversary of Santhigiri Ashram, twenty-two Brahmacharinis were initiated by Gurusthaneeya Sishyapoojitha Amritha Jnana Thapaswini. The ceremony started with worship at 5 o’clock in the morning. In a prayerful atmosphere, the initiation ceremony started at nine in the morning at Sahakarana Mandiram. One by one, the brahmacharinis worshipped Guru in front of the Sishyapoojitha, offering lotus flowers, a silver lamp, and a platter containing navadhannya. After offering a garland on a specially prepared pedestal and performing worship of Guru, each one received new name and clothes from Sishyapoojitha. White-clad brahmacharinis changed into saffron clothes after initiation. Ashram General Secretary Swami Gururathnam Jnana Thapaswi ushered the new sannyasinis to the Sahakarana Mandiram. He announced the initiation name of the new members as willed by Guru. The following are their Deeksha names:

V- Janani Guruchandrika, Director of American Hospital and Healthcare Software Company Vandita Siddharthan- Janani Srivanditha, Vandita Babu- Janani Vanditha, a B.Ed. student in English Literature, Siddha Medical Officer Dr. Neetu. PC- Janani Urmila, Vatsala. K.V- Janani Dharmavalli who completed 25 years of celibacy, Microbiologist Jayapriya. P.V- Janani Jayapriya, BCom Graduate and Ashram Finance Department employee Limsha. K- Janani Gurusthuti, Sukrita A. doing post-graduation in M.Com Global Business Operations at University of Kerala Karyavattam Campus -Janani Sukrita, Prasanna V. working at Santhigiri Mudranalayam -Janani Snehaja Krishnapriya, Postgraduate in Botany A.S- Janani Gautami, B.Ed Student Karuna, Postgraduate in English Literature. S.S- Janani Karunashree, Ashram Inmate Anandavalli, BM- Janani Anandavalli, Idukki native Swayamprabha. BS- Janani Swayamprabha, a second-year student of Siddha Medicine Karuna. P.K- Janani Karunadeepti Mangalavalli C.B. from Wayanad – Janani Mangalavalli, Priyamvada R.S. from Vellathuval Idukki – Janani Priyamvada, native of Alappuzha Shaibi AN- Janani Ambuja, native of Ernakulam Sajitha P.S- Janani Pushpitha, native of Varkala Anita S- Janani Anita, and native of Cherthala Rajini R.S.- Janani Atmaja. The title ‘Jnana Thapaswini’ will be added along with their Deeksh names. Four of the Sannyasinis are from outside Kerala.

With the addition of 22 new members, the strength of Santhigiri Sannyasa Sangham rose to 126 from the earlier 104 members. After the 12 noon worship, various offerings of Sannyasa Sangha and Rakshakarta Samiti took place at Lotus Parnashala. The early women activists of the Ashram were honoured at a felicitation ceremony held at 1 p.m. Thousands of devotees from different parts of the world and prominent people in the spiritual, social, political, and cultural fields participated in the function. After worship at 6 p.m., there will be a floral offering followed by Deepapradakshinam. With this, the special rituals and prayer ceremonies that have been going on for the past ten days will conclude.
