Dhyana Math being readied to impart a new spiritual vibrance in Cheyyur, Chennai

“Manju”

Cheyyur: In connection with the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Santhigiri Ashram in Chennai, the Dhyana Math being readied at the branch ashram in Cheyyur will be a new experience for the devotees.

The devotees in Chennai will get a chance to see the brilliant portrait of Ashram founder Guru Navajyothi SreeKarunakara Guru. The Dhyana Math, which is under construction next to the Darshan Mandir in the Spiritual Zone, is arranged in such a way that it fills the heart with unspeakable joy. The ‘Gururupa’ in the Dhyana Math will provide a spiritually inspiring vision to anyone who enters. The meditative form of Guru, above a lotus flower, is the same height as the Guru’s actual height.

‘Guru Darshan’ in this sacred chamber will be equally heartwarming for those who have never met Guru and for those who had seen him in the physical body. Appropriate background music and lighting will enhance the spiritual aura in the Dhyana Math.

Dhyana Math is a place for chanting and meditation. Meditation is one of the most important aspects of spirituality. The state of becoming identified with the Lord. In the supreme state of Light, the human mind will pass beyond the transcendental to the blissful world of meditation. Even though the great sages spend a lifetime meditating on the shores of the sea, among the mountains, in the forests and in the depths of caves, at the end of their lives they may not attain the light of a even single sandalwood incense stick. But the experience at Santhigiri is completely different. In the stream of Guru’s great mercy, the devotees have rare visions to see and know even the creation of the world. This is Santhigiri’s experience of vision which has no parallels. Spiritual aspirants will get an opportunity to experience this for themselves in this holy place.

Meditation has many states. For a devotee, meditation means surrendering one’s mind to the Guru. Surrender everything to the Guru by surrendering the mind to the Guru. Everything is seen in Guru. Meditation is predicated on the belief that Guru is the Parabrahmam. The Dhyana Math is the place where everything is focused on this central point. The mantra chanted at Santhigiri is the Akhanda Nama.

The Dhyana Math being readied to mark the Silver Jubilee celebrations at Cheyyur is sure to provide a new experience of devotion to everyone.
