Two people killed in blast at chemical factory in Maharashtra

At least two persons were killed and eight others injured in a blast at a chemical factory at Khopoli in Raigad district of Maharashtra.

The mishap took place at 3 in the morning in Jashnova Pharma when the reactor broke down and exploded.

The blast knocked down a shed at a neighboring company, killing the security guard’s wife. The fire also damaged six other factories.

Ten firefighters fought the blaze for four hours. The injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Khopoli.
