The meaning of the word Guru is a combination of ‘gu’ and ‘ru’. It means going from darkness to light. Navajyothi Sri Karunakara Guru fulfills this word in its full meaning. It reveals the secret of beloved Guru’s identity with the Supreme, the light of the world.

The three values of Annadanam, Athurasevanam and Atmabodhanam are the identifying symbols of Santhigiri. The basic philosophy of Santhigiri Ashram is an expression of divine principles received through God’s revelation. The Guru’s life has passed through all the transitional stages of spirituality and emerged as Nava Jyoti – new light.
