Cheyyur is getting ready to welcome Guru

“Manju”

Chennai: The entire village of Cheyyur is gearing up to welcome the Santhigiri Ashram Gurusthaniya Shishyapoojitha Amritha Jnana Thapaswini who is coming to Cheyyur for the first time.

Shishyapoojitha will arrive here on January 5 on the auspicious occasion of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Santhigiri Ashram’s activities in Tamil Nadu.

Cheyyur Ashram is located in a scenic area away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Swami Manuchith Jnana Thapaswi, five or six inmates and about ten families which come for prayers were the only people in the ashram. But for the past month it has not been like that. The face of the area changed with the arrival of members of the Gurudharma Prakasha Sabha from various branch ashrams and the central ashram. People of the area started coming to the ashram after seeing the yellow-robed sannyasins.

This land is going to witness a welcome that has never been given to any acharya, as the local people came together with the sannyasis and gurubhaktas to work on the clay and marshy land of Cheyyur.

A coordination meeting is held every morning. Swami Bhasura Jnana Thapaswi is going to invite people for the event. Swami Janathirthan Jnana Thapaswi is in charge of the accommodation. Swami Chittashuddha Jnana Thapaswi and Swami Muktachitan Jnana Thapaswi are there to lead the kitchen affairs. Swami Maduranathan Jnana Thapaswi is supervising the construction works. Swami Satyachith Jnana Thapaswi is in charge of coordinating the medical camp. Janani Prarthana Jnana Thapaswini, Janani Mangala Jnana Thapaswini and Janani Shantiprabha Jnana Thapaswini are active in the ashram affairs. Swami Anandajyoti Jnana Thapaswi and Swami Bhaktadathan Jnana Thapaswi are in Chennai for the program coordination of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Chennai branch ashram. On January 1, Ashram General Secretary Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi will also arrive to review the preparations for the Silver Jubilee celebrations.

Darshan Mandir and Dhyana Math where Navajyothi SreeKarunakara Guru’s portrait will be installed are nearing completion. Medical survey will be started from January 2, 2024 under the leadership of Santhigiri Siddha Medical College as part of the health care program organized under the name of ‘Makkal Health’.

Shishyapoojitha will arrive in Chennai on January 5 and reach Cheyyur on January 6. The lighting of the auspicious lamp in the Ashram complex will be on January 7.
