“Manju”

Kaladi: The Santhigiri Avadhuta Yatra Sangham arrived at the Sri Ramakrishna Advaita Ashram in Kaladi quite by chance, on its Foundation Day. Avadhuta Yatra is a procession of disciples through the twenty-five places associated with Navajyoti Sri Karunakara Guru. The Yatra is being undertaken on the eve of Navoli Jyotir Dinam, the anniversary of Guru’s Adi Sankalpa. The journey started from Chandirur this morning and first reached the Ashram at Kaladi.

It was at Kaladi that Sri Karunakara Guru began his spiritual odyssey. The Guru left home at the age of thirteen and was brought to Agamananda Ashram by Kumarapillai. At that time the name was ‘Kaladi Agamanandashram’. After Ramakrishna Mission was established it came to be known as Sri Ramakrishna Advaita Ashram.

Swami Sri Vidyananda and Swami Brahmaparananda welcomed the Avadhuta Sangha at the ashram. Then the group went to the prayer hall. Shantigiri Ashram President Swami Chaitanya Jnana Thapasvi, General Secretary Swami Gururatnam Jnana Thapasvi, Vice President Swami Nirmohatma Jnana Thapasvi and Swami Snehatma Jnana Thapasvi offered flowers in front of the idol of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. Swami Srividyananda said that reaching the Ramakrishna Math on the foundation day of Santhigiri Ashram’s Avadhutayatra may be another assignment from God.
