Bengaluru: Hundreds of bikes and four-wheelers, including cars, were damaged in water-logging reported in most parts of East Bengaluru, on Tuesday night.

Flood water entered into several houses and the worst-hit areas were Koramangala, Horamavu, HBR Layout, KR Puram and surrounding areas.

According to the BBMP authorities, heavy rain was reported in most parts of the city and the floodwater entered into the houses in the low lying areas in many parts causing panic among the city residents.

Several roads in the KR Puram and surrounding areas were inundated in floodwater. This year due to Covid 19, the BBMP was not able to take up the preparatory works which resulted in this artificial flood, said sources.

According to the BBMP authorities, the corporation’s control room was flooded with complaints since midnight. Most of the complaints were addressed immediately.

Several city residents used social media to explain the chaos created by the flood water in their areas.

Meanwhile, according to the IMD forecast for the city, rain is expected to continue for the next 48 hours.
