India Is the Land of Wise – R. Ramachandran Nair IAS (Ret.).

Pothencode: (Thiruvananthapuram): Former Chief Secretary R. Ramachandran Nair, IAS (Retd.) said that India is the land of great Rishis, and it was the richest country in the world till the 1800s. There is a word in Sanskrit called Jnanavridhan. It is based on knowledge. India is the land of wise men in that sense. He said that India became poor through 150 years of British rule, but even then, India was rich in wisdom. He said that very soon India will once again achieve first place in the world in economic and social fields. He was speaking after accepting the honors given to him as part of Nava Oli Jyothir Dinam celebrations at Santhigiri Ashram. He recalled coming to the ashram for the first time during his official tenure, and his few visits after that when he could see Navajyoti Sri Karunakara Guru in person and receive his blessings.

Thiruvananthapuram Govt. Ayurveda College R&B Department Head Professor Dr. T.V. Srini, Panchakarma Department Head Professor Dr. T. K. Sujan, Head Superintendent of Kumarabhritya Department Professor Dr. Anil Kumar M. V. were also honored in the function by Santhigiri Ashram General Secretary Swami Gururatnam Jnana Thapasvi and President Swami Chaitanya Jnana Thapasvi.
