Bengaluru: The government of Karnataka has identified at least 16 districts as coronavirus hotspots.
With eight new cases on Tuesday and the total tally hitting 520, all the 30 districts in the state have been divided into four zones- Red, Orange, Yellow and green.
While six districts are in the red zone, five are in orange and in yellow zones each and fourteen are in green zone.
Red indicates highest number of cases and green indicates zero cases of COVID-19.
Red Zone- Kalaburgi, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, Belagavi, Bengaluru Urban, Mysuru
Yellow Zone- Uttara Kannada, Gadag, Tumakuru, Chikkaballapur, Bengaluru Rural
Orange Zone- Bidar, Dakshina Kannada, Mandya, Dharwad, Ballary,
Green Zone- Chitradurga, Davangere, Chamrajnagar, Chikmagalur, Hassan, Haveri, Kolar, Koppala, Kodagu, Raichur,Ramanagar, Shimoga, Yadgiri
According to the list released by the union health ministry, a total of 8 districts from the state have been identified as COVID-19 hotspots/ containment zones.
They are Bengaluru Urban, Mysuru, Belagavi, Dakshina Kannada, Bidar, Kalaburugi, Bagalkot, Dharward.
Non containment zones are: Chamrajnagar, Chikmagalur, Hassan, Haveri, Kolar, Koppala, Raichur, Ramanagar
Shimoga, Yadgiri.

Hotspot disricts- Bengaluru Urban, Mysuru, Belagavi
Cluster hotspot districts- Kalburgi, Bagalkote, Dakshina Kannada, Bidar, Dharwad
Non-hotspot districts- Mandya, Bengaluru Rural, Ballari, Davangere, Udupi, Gadag, Tumakuru, Kodagu,
Green Districts- Chamrajnagar, Ramanagar, Chikmagalur, Hassan, Kolar, Koppala, Raichur, Yadgiri.
The Karnataka government would draw an exit plan ahead of the extended lockdown’s ending on May 3, an official said on Monday.
“The state government will draw an exit plan this week and submit it to the Centre for approval and implementation after the 19-day extended lockdown ends on May 3,” the official told.
