Karnataka’s Covid cases saw a rapid surge with 8,818 positive cases being reported on Saturday, the highest so far.
Bengaluru which had seen cases between 1.5k and 2.5 k so far, saw a sudden jump with 3,495 new cases. The big surge has come up despite the number of tests being more or less the same (54,806) over the days. Out of the 30 districts, 20 have been reporting 100-plus cases.
The number of fatalities too saw a new high with 114 people succumbing to Covid-19 and Bengaluru’s share was 33. As many as 5,05,417 tests have been conducted in Bengaluru out of 19,93,760 tests in the state so far.
