KSEB, Water Authority to resume disconnecting supply over non-payment of arrears

Disconnection of electricity and drinking water supply will be resumed in the state if the arrears bills are not paid on time.The disconnection was stalled for the past 8 months due to the pandemic. KSEB has to collect an amount of Rs 800 crores until the mid-week of December.Both KSEB and water Authority believes that this arrears amount is critical for them to overcome the financial crisis. Electricity Board has stated that consumers who are unable to pay large amounts of money can avail installment facilities upon request. The revenue recovery of connections that were disconnected before the pandemic will also be initiated.
