Wayanad: Her Holiness Shishya Pujita Amrita Jnana Tapaswini is visiting Wayanad in connection with various programs and meetings with spiritual seekers and to rekindle the memories of Navajyoti Sri Karunakara Guru’s pilgrimage to Wayanad.

Gurusthaniya Shishya Pujita is visiting Wayanad after many years. Shishya Poojita had visited Wayanad earlier in June 2005. Shishyapoojitha is the repository of visions and the leading light of Santhigiri Ashram. Only on rare occasions, she leaves the Ashram for pilgrimages. She remains the spiritual solace for thousands of Guru’s devotees who visit the main Ashram at Pothencode, Thiruvananthapuram every day for her darshan.

It is the belief of the Guru’s devotees that the Guru’s pilgrimages bring good fortune to the place. Places of worship or places where sages performed penance, places where great people were born, or places of samadhi are chosen for pilgrimages.

It has been revealed that Wayanad was the Karmabhoomi of the Guru in his previous incarnations. The public in Sultanbatheri and nearby areas also can have the darshan of Shishya Poojita during the pilgrimage.

Ashram President Swami Chaitanya Jnana Tapasvi, General Secretary Swami Gururatnam Jnana Tapasvi, and about 100 sannyasins and brahmacharis will accompany Her Holiness on the pilgrimage. She will depart from the Pothencode Ashram on April 4 and reach Kannur by air. The group will reach Suthan Batheri at 6 pm. Sannyasis, devotees, and the public will welcome her with Poorna Kumbham on her arrival at Nambyarkunnu, Wayanad.

She will dedicate the Prayer Hall at Sulthan Bathery on April 5, at 9 am. The dedication ceremony will take place in a prayerful atmosphere with the chanting of mantras by hundreds of devotees in the background of traditional music. Her Holiness will then give darshan to the public and devotees. Eminent people from the political, social, and cultural fields will be participating in the Sauhruda Kootaayma after the ceremonies.

Kits containing provisions will be distributed to needy tribal families at the function. 50 individuals who have demonstrated their ability in various fields will be felicitated in the Meeting at 4 pm. A procession will be taken out at 6 pm. At 8 pm, fusion music and art performances will be staged with traditional musical instruments, with a view to reviving the age-old art forms.

After the main ceremonies at the Sultanbathery Ashram, Her Holiness will travel to the Kakkodi branch ashram in Kozhikode on April 7.

Swami Jayadeeptan Jnana Tapasvi, Swami Bhaktathan Jnana Tapasvi, Santhigiri Communications Dept. Honorary Editor T. Sasimohan, Assistant General Manager Sethunath Malayalappuzha, Coordination Committee members PK Jayarajan, and Adv.P. Suresh also attended the press conference.
