Students of Trivandrum International School Visit Santhigiri to Observe Nature

Pothencode: The Trivandrum International School at Thonnakkal allowed children to get to know nature at a time when children are losing a childhood of growing up by touching the plants in the home garden and learning about their benefits from adults. Academic Director and Principal of Trivandrum International School Richard Hillebrand imparted a green lesson to the students by taking them to visit the herbal garden of Santhigiri Siddha Medical College near Pothencode as an extra-curricular program.

It was a new experience for the class 1 students who visited the herbal garden today (Monday, December 11, 2023). Santhigiri Siddha Medical College Botany Department teacher Sindhu B.P. guided the students who got in touch with the environment by touching and smelling the herbs. They spent two hours in the herbal garden answering all the children’s questions and doubts. The group from the school included 39 students, school teachers Gayatri Bhadrakumar, Reena Jose, Rose Marie Yesudas, Anjo Prakash, and Maya. G, Non-teaching staff Ananya.MB, Rajitha Suresh, Vineeta, and Jaya were also on the visiting team. Siddha Medical College Principal Prof. Dr. D.K. Soundararajan said that every year as part of the study program, the children of the International School visit the herbal garden of Siddha College and the steps taken by the school authorities in imparting such knowledge to the students is commendable.
