Santhigiri ‘Makkal Arogyam’ Medical Camp Project Started in Tamil Nadu.

CHENNAI: Santhigiri Ashram, which is completing twenty-five years of service in Tamil Nadu, will begin its new philanthropic program at Kiyur in Chengalpet. The Ashram General Secretary Swami Gururatnam Jnana Thapaswi informed that the project of free Siddha Medical Camps named ‘Makkal Arogyam’ will be organized across Tamilnadu by Santhigiri Ashram.

As part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations, more than 2,000 people will be provided with free medical check-ups and medicines in the first medical camp to be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Santhigiri Ashram Cheyyur branch. Renowned actor Thalaivasal Vijay will inaugurate the Santhigiri Makkal Arogyam Medical Camps. Prior to the camp, a health survey will be conducted under the joint auspices of Santhigiri Siddha Medical College and Chennai National Institute of Siddha from January 2. The camp which will be held on 7th will have special consultation desks for General Medicine, Varmam (Special Medicine), Aruvai (Surgery), Sul Magalier (Gynaecology) and Kushante (Pediatrics) along with special consultation desks for skin diseases, bone and joint diseases and lifestyle diseases. There will also be specialty consultation. Apart from medical examination, medicines will also be distributed free of charge. The camp is led by a team of expert doctors under the leadership of College Principal Dr. D.K. Soundararajan. The camp will be held from 9 am to 2 pm. Registration will start at 8 am on the day.

Santhigiri Ashram is a movement that spearheads the global spread of Siddha Vaidya, a unique medical practice of Bharat. The Siddha drug factory started at Pothencode Thiruvananthapuram under the instructions of Ashram founder Navajyothi Sri Karunakara Guru has a tradition of over fifty years. Santhigiri Ayurveda and Siddha Vaidyasala, which prepares Siddha medicines in a traditional yet completely scientific manner, has already gained world attention. Santhigiri is also the first Siddha Medical College to teach Siddha Medicine (BSMS) in English medium.
