Karnataka Minister holds virtual meet with Kerala Health Minister over COVID containment

Bengaluru: Minister for Medical Education Dr. K Sudhakar held a video conference with Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja, on Monday, May 11, with regard to the plans that Kerala has implemented to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

The two ministers agreed to have regular dialogue and exchange of information on disease control.

Both the ministers stressed the need for cooperation between the states in following better treatment practices.

Explaining the steps taken for better management of Covid-19, Shailaja said that soon after the students returned from Wuhan, Kerala took proper precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.

She said that taluk-level health facilities came as a blessing for Kerala.

Various issues like the method of quarantine, testing, and treatment of patients with respiratory ailments, the cooperation of private medical colleges in fighting the virus, treatment of pregnant women, quarantine of international passengers, and other issues were also discussed during the video conference.
