Bengaluru: The Karnataka Government, on Thursday, May 28, banned entry to people coming from five states namely Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

Reportedly, the decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting held on Thursday. It was that the trains from any of these states would not be allowed to enter Karnataka. They will also not be allowed to enter the state by road. The State Government has requested the Civil Aviation Ministry to reduce the number of flights.

The decision comes after the state has seen a spike in COVID-19 cases over the past few days, most of them being returnees from other states.
