Karnataka reports whopping 4,537 cases, 93 deaths

Bengaluru: The state reported a whopping 4,537 new COVID-19 cases and 93 deaths on Saturday, July 18. This brings the total number of confirmed novel coronavirus infections to 59,652 and death toll to 1,240.

Bengaluru Urban alone reported 2,125 cases and Dakshina Kannada reported 509* new infections. Dharwad reported 186 new cases.

While 1,018 people were discharged after making a full recovery from the disease today, 580 people are being treated in ICUs across the state.

The breakup of the fresh cases are: Vijayapura (176), Ballari (155), Belagavi (137), Uttara Kannada (116), Shivamogga (114), Udupi (109), Chikkaballapura (107), Mysuru (101), Bengaluru Rural (94), Kalaburagi (82), Gadag (82), Bidar (72), Davanagere (56), Hassan (51), Mandya (42), Kolar (35), Chamarajanagara (34), Tumakuru (24), Chikkamagaluru (24), Chitradurga (22), Raichuru (16), Haveri (15), Bagalakote (13), Koppala (13), Ramanagara (13), Kodagu (10), and Yadagir (4).

There are 36,631 active COVID-19 cases in the state. So far, a total of 21,775 have been discharged. Additionally, six people have died of non-COVID causes.
