Kerala to reduce COVID test price; no compromise on quality .

Kerala is reducing the cost of COVID test in private hospitals and labs as the price of testing kits and PPE kits also have come down. The new rate will come into force within a week.The government will issue strict directive not to use any cheap testing equipment when the cost of the test is reduced .Currently the government has the fixed cost of RT- PCR test at Rs 2100.This is likely to be reduced to Rs 1500.The cost of anitgen test will be reduced from Rs 675 to Rs 600.However .Kerala is unlikely to reduce the to that level,hinted the office of the health minister. This is the second time COVID test cost os being reduced after the private institutions were grants permission to perform the test. A total of 49 labs in the state have been granted permission for testing.
