Move to make 3000 temporary employees permanent in Universities

Universities across the state have been accused of making daily wage workers and contractual employees permanent without notifying the vacancies to PSC. The Calicut University syndicate meeting has decided to make the appointments of 35 employees of Calicut University permanent.Those who are employed on contract basis and on daily wages for more than 10 years will be made permanent. It is alleged that the University Vice Chancellor gave permission to this decision as his own driver was also included in the list of employees. It was earlier government that made PSC in charge of the appointment of non teaching position in Universities.Following this more than 3000 appointments were made after implementing the special rule for computer assistants,across various universities.
