Vallyayi (Kannur): Annadanam is the highest charity. Hunger and thirst are the ultimate in life. Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi, General Secretary, of Santhigiri Ashram said that some people are trying to create divisions by bringing caste and religion into this divine work, instead of spreading messages of friendship. The Swami was speaking at the state-level inauguration of the Campaign Meeting held at Vallyayi Santhigiri branch Ashram, related to the commencement of Santhigiri Poojitha Peedom Samarpanam celebrations. There can be a discussion about the taste of the food, about the adulteration in it, about the wastage of the food, about its price or its quality. But unhealthy discussions are going on in our country about the caste of the cook, it’s serving and consumption.

Some people insist on turning vegetarians into non-vegetarians and non-vegetarians into vegetarians. But the hungry man has no one to satisfy his needs. There are billions of people who cannot get what they want to eat. Swami opined that we have become a land of people who take pleasure in playing divisive agenda while not caring about those who don’t get food. The Swami added that none of the legendary Gurus were anti-secular and therefore all believers should cultivate their minds and see other religions, with a friendly attitude.

Swami Jananma Jnana Thapaswi, Head of the Santhigiri Arts & Culture Department presided over the function. Janani Abheda, Swami Vandanaroopan, Swami Archit, Janani Renuroopa, Swami Athmabodha, Manoj Mathan, Sandhya Prakash, Jithin Paleri and Manushree K.V. spoke in the meeting.
