Former President Ram Nath Kovind accorded warm welcome at Santhigiri Navapoojitham celebrations

Pothencode: Former President Ram Nath Kovind received a grand welcome when he arrived at Santhigiri Ashram to participate in the ninety-seventh birthday celebrations of Navjyothishrikarunakara Guru. Ashram General Secretary Swami Gururethnam jnana Thapaswi, ashram vice President Swami Nirmohatma, Lutheran Church Bishop Rev. Dr. Mohan Manuel, MG University Former Vice Chancellor Dr. Babu Sebastian, Christian Sabha council ‘ACTS’ General Secretary, National Minority commission panel member and Vedic E School Director George Sebastian, Patron of Ashram Advisory Committee Dr. GR Kiran, Adviser Jayaprakash. A, Harvest TV. M. D Bibi George Chacko, CSI Sabha Trustee Nibu Jacob Varki and Jeevan TV Director Sajan Vellore together received the former president of India. Today he will be staying at VKL Santhi Homes.

Today (22/08/2023) morning after floral offering at Lotus parnasala at 9 am he will inaugurate the Navapoojitham festivities at 9.30 am. Governor Arif Muhammad Khan will be the chief guest on the occasion. After the conference, the former President and the Governor will meet Gurusthaniya Shishya Poojitha Amrita Jnana Thapaswini.

Deputy Speaker Chittayam Gopakumar will inaugurate the cultural session at 12.30 pm and Minister Antony Raju will inaugurate the general session at 3.30 pm. Many people from political, social and cultural fields will attend the various conferences.

Navapoojitham prayer ceremonies will begin at 5 am with a special flower offering by the Sanyasi sangham followed by flag hoisting at 6 p.m., and floral offering from 7 p.m for all who had come from different parts of country. In the afternoon there will be a session for various offerings. Deepapradakshinam will begin at 5 pm. There will also be Bharatnatyam by Japanese dancer Kanema Tomiyasu as a part of cultural celebrations. At 9.30 pm, various art programs of the world culture will be staged. This year’s Navpoojitham celebrations will conclude with the Purna Kumbh Mela on September 20.
