Santhigiri is Playing a Pivotal Role in Changing India: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar

New Delhi: Vice President of India Sri Jagdeep Dhankar dedicated to the nation the newly constructed Silver Jubilee Mandiram of Santhigiri Ashram, in Saket, South Delhi, today. While speaking in the function the Vice President said that ‘what we need in this country is a mindset that reflects our civilizational ethos. You are catalyzing a big social change, and playing a pivotal role in changing Bharat, he said. Sri Dhankar said that the truth is that without a Guru there is no wisdom. He started his speech by saying that his visit to Santhigiri Ashram was an unforgettable experience in his life. “ I will leave this place fully surcharged, energized, motivated, and inspired to follow the principles that Santhigiri Ashram is espousing…Every moment etched in my mind.’, he said.

The Vice President praised the Ashram’s efforts in empowering thousands of youth through skill development training, which is a direct testimony of the Ashram’s alignment with the national development vision. ‘Your Ashram is engaged in the empowerment of women. Empowerment of women is critical to the growth of humanity. Empowerment of women is not an option but is the only way…’ he added.

To commemorate his visit to Santhigiri, the Vice President planted a sapling in the Ashram courtyard. He had an audience with Ashram Gurusthaniya Abhivandhya Shishya Poojitha, along with Dr. Shashi Tharoor, the Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram. Dr. Shashi Tharoor said in the meeting that it was a matter of great pride to be associated with Santhigiri Ashram which has now emerged as a major spiritual, developmental, and social institution.

Santhigiri Ashram President Swami Chaitanya Jnana Thapaswi and General Secretary Swami Gururatnam Jnana Thapaswi presented Ashram’s tribute and gift to the Vice President. Dr. Shashi Tharoor MP delivered the keynote speech. He said that the three main pillars of Ashram’s vision which are Annadanam, Athurasevanam, and Atmabodhanam, are symbols of the Guru’s love for humanity. K.V Thomas, Special Representative of the Government of Kerala in Parliament, BJP National Executive Member P.K. Krishnadas, B.J.P. State General Secretary A.N Radhakrishnan, and Gokulam Group Chairman Gokulam Gopalan were also present in the function.
