Devotees Started Arriving for Poojitha Peeddom Samarpanam Celebrations: Preparations Underway at Santhigiri

Pothencode: Devotees from India and abroad have started arriving at Santigiri Ashram to participate in the Poojitha Peeddom Samarpanam celebrations on 21-22nd February. The final preparations for the Poojitha Peeddom Samarpanam ceremony are underway. The work on the pandal is now complete. Cleaning work is going on on the premises of the ashram. The devotees from different areas offered agricultural produce and other items for annadanam during the function, which is known as vibhava samaharanam. Kumbhams and Deepams are being prepared in Yanjashala for the Kumbh Mela. As part of the celebration, a free dental camp will be held by Dantasukham Dental Clinic. Siddha Ayurveda medical camp will also be held along with this. KSRTC bus service is currently available from Thiruvananthapuram city to the Ashram. Police, Fire Force, Ambulance, Drinking Water Supply, and Stalls have also been provided.

The Poojitha Peeddom Samarpanam celebrations will begin on the 21st at Santhigiri Ashram to commemorate the unbroken continuity of the Guru-Shishya order. Kerala Food Minister G R Anil will inaugurate the proclamation meeting at 4.30 pm at the Sahakarana Mandiram. On the 22nd Thursday morning at 5 o’clock, Dhwajarohana will be held at 6 o’clock after the special Pushpa Samarpanam. Minister for Minority Welfare Abdu Rahman will inaugurate the general meeting which will be held at the Sahakarana Mandiram at 10.30. Maharashtra Education Minister Deepak K Sarkar will be the Chief Guest.

The Ardha Varshika Kumbha Mela will also be held on the 22nd evening which also marks the culmination of the forty-one days of fasting and special pushpa samarpanam. After the Aradhana at noon, there will be Guru Darshan and various offerings to the Guru by devotees. The Kumbha Mela procession and Deepa Pradakshinam will begin at 4 pm. Thousands of white-clad devotees will circumambulate the Ashram complex carrying the Kumbhams and Deepams and offer it at Guru’s Lotus Parnashala.

Santhigiri is a great example of the Guru-Shishya spiritual order. Poojitha Peeddom is celebrated on the anniversary of the spiritual ascension of Her Holiness Shishyapoojitha as Guru-apparent.
