COVID-19: Karnataka reported highest single day spike of 9,386 new cases on Thursday

Bengaluru: Karnataka reported the biggest single-day leap in COVID-19 cases on Thursday, August 27, with 9,386 new infections, taking the state’s tally to 3,09,792. Additionally, 141 COVID-19 related deaths were also reported from the state, taking the total death toll to 5,232.

The number of new positive cases in the state overtook the recoveries as only 7,866 people recovered from the disease. This brings the total number of recoveries to 2,19,554. The number of active cases in the state is now 84,987.

As many as 3,357 of the cases were reported from Bengaluru alone, taking it’s tally up to 1,18,728.
