Relevant excerpts from the speech of Swami Gurumithran Jnana Tapaswi,Organizing Secretary of the Santhigiri Ashram at the Satsang on the occasion of the Sanyasa Deeksha Anniversary.

The Guru has said that Santhigiri is not an idea that follows an existing system. The Guru did give a new dimension to the world, but in accordance with the prevailing cultures and ideologies. We are the ones who are going to change the evils that have come up in this world by giving a definite guidance to the human beings and bring it to the forefront by making a change in the present and making an arrangement with time and a form of what is to come. The activities of the generation of disciples through the sacrificial ways of the Guru were to apply to this world a new knowledge that will never perish . The day of asceticism was actually the beginning of a generation of Gurus. The Guru was actually molding a new generation of Gurus here, consisting of a Grihasthashrami and a Sanyasi. Our great Guru, the primordial form, always tells the common man two things. When you come to this path, you will be able to keep it to the end of your life only if you copy the path of absolute sacrifice in your life. It takes a great deal of luck for people like us to have a great Guru in life. Sacrifice is the key to each of us for maintaining good fortune for a lifetime. We are human beings born in the age of Kali. We are ordinary people who had the opportunity to live with that Guru at the same time that a complete concept of God emerged here. Each Sanyasa Deeksha Varshikam is a reminder to us that we need to be able to work in such a way as to lighten the world with the light and goodness of this idea. Absolutely this is not something that is only for the Sanyasis. The Guru always says that a perfect Sanyasi is born from a Grihasthashrami . The Guru always gave importance to the family as a whole. I started staying in the Ashram regularly from the 1980s. During my childhood, I was able to stay with my Guru in this holy land. Many of the milestones of the Ashram that have come down to this day have been able to travel with the Guru’s concept in the milestones from the hut to the prayer hall and from that prayer hall to every path we see today. I am one of the humblest of them all. I also remember the first Sannyasa Diksha anniversary in 1984 and then Guru gave Diksha in 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2009. It is no coincidence that a lot of people are chosen by the Guru. Through the sacrifices of the Guru-Shishya tradition, this Guru parampara can be seen to be moving forward uninterruptedly. The disciple is moving it forward with his own life .This parampara can be created by a sanyasi and a grihasthashrami who live according to the will of the Guru. The Guru always says that there is a good Sanyasi in the world through the real Grihasthashrami . Therefore, the contemporary importance of asceticism can be said to be located entirely on our family. The result of what a Sanyasi does will be visible sometimes only over time. If we look at the history of India or Santhigiri, we know the ways in which the Guru experienced sacrifice. Gurus have always accepted any form of rejection. Guru remind us the history of the Mahatmas and the rejection they faced . The Guru taught us to look at all the challenges in the life of the Guru who wanted the best to come from childhood and to go through the path of complete sacrifice by seeing it all as God’s providence. The arrow shot by Krishna, the nail stuck on Christ and the whip struck by the Prophet can still be seen in nature in many forms. The principle is that a Sanyao should live according to the instructions of the witness of his soul. Sanctification should not be done according to the criteria set by the society. Life should be lived only on the instructions of a Guru . That is the duty of a Sanyasi. This is the law of truth, whether one is indifferent, sympathetic, one who knows sorrow, one who knows all, one who sees pain in the omnipresent view of nature, one who accepts space-time, and lives beyond space-time. Great changes have taken place in the world as a result of the long-held ideas of our Guru. If we look at the history of India, there is a large community of sacrificial monks. Another religion cannot accept one religion. All religions are fighting each other. Therefore, a self-sufficient religion must emerge. World peace can only be established through religious harmony. Beyond this, the Guru has said that a Sanyasi should share the love of God. Do not live far away from society. The Sanyasi should be able to share with them the grace of God that he has experienced. People may scoff at the stench, but a Sanyasi should be able to wash it off with fresh water, which is a form of prayer. This life is the perfection of the present asceticism, remembering on this occasion of Sanyasa Diksha varshikam. The law of the existence of God is the idea of the Guru who radiates sacrifice and command. The consecrated life of Abhivandya Shisyapujitha is a magnificent reflection of the Guru’s idea. Here the disciple-worshiping self-life has become a ritual, bringing about a permanent solution to the World. The Sanyasis are the inner disciples of the Guru who follow that will power with the Guru in order to realize the Guru’s idea and the Guru’s determination. Discipleship is the teaching points of these Sanyasis and ideologically oriented Grihasthashrami . The efforts of the Sanyasis are always to develop and achieve success. We need talent to develop. It gives us the opportunity to perform Tapas. Gurudharma Prakash Sabha is silent on the responsibility of purifying the world dharma by always maintaining the ascetic dharma according to the will of Brahma, not the formal or informal renunciation of the Guru’s vision. The principle inherent in asceticism at Santhigiri is the glorious vision of tolerance in which the Sanyasi and the Grihasthashrami know how to respect the Sanyasis. There is no doubt that Brahmam will preserve the living Karma Yoga of each of the disciples of the Guru through any turbulent times.
