New Delhi: As part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Santhigiri New Delhi, the Ashram devotees and citizens of Delhi gave a warm welcome to Gurusthaniya Shishyapujitha Amrita Jnana Thapaswini at the Saket Branch Ashram. Her visit to Delhi Ashram is considered a pilgrimage. Her Holiness leaves the Thiruvananthapuram Central Ashram situated at Pothencode on rare occasions only for the most important pilgrimages. It is after a gap of 14 years that Gurusthaniya Shishya Poojitha is visiting the Ashram in Saket, Pushpavihar, New Delhi. This is her second visit to the branch. Santhigiri Ashram was established by Navajyoti Sri Karunakara Guru in Pothencode, Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala sixty years ago. One of the important programs of Gurusthaniya Amrita Jnana Thapaswini is the lamp-lighting ritual at the Prayer Hall at the Silver Jubilee Mandiram.

As part of completing 25 years of the Ashram’s activities in the national capital, elaborate programs have been organized. Delhi Lt. Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena inaugurated the Silver Jubilee celebrations this afternoon. Union Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muralidharan presided over the function.

The Silver Jubilee Mandiram of Santhigiri Ashram, completed in Saket, South Delhi, will be dedicated to the nation by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar on Monday, November 20. The Silver Jubilee building will also house Santhigiri’s Skill Development Training Center which has provided employment and new life to more than a thousand youth across the country.

Santhigiri Ashram started its operations in Delhi In 1998. The work started by four devotees of Guru paved the way for the formation of the society and the establishment of the Ayurveda Siddha Hospital. The Silver Jubilee Mandiram was built on the land obtained in South Delhi in 2002 by the efforts of the late Sri K. R. Narayanan, the then President of India and a well-wisher of the Ashram. The foundation stone of the temple was laid in 2009 during Gurustaniya Shishya Poojitha’s pilgrimage to North India. The Ashram’s activities in various fields such as Ayurveda, Siddha, Yoga, Vocational Skills, Women Empowerment, etc. have spread throughout North India in the past fourteen years,
