COVID-19: Karnataka reported 5072 new cases on Saturday

Bengaluru: The state reported a record 5,072 new COVID-19 cases and 72 deaths on Saturday, July 25. This brings the total number of confirmed novel coronavirus infections to 90,942 and death toll to 1,796.

Bengaluru Urban alone reported 2,036 cases and Belagavi reported 341 new infections. Ballari reported 222 new cases.

While a record 2,403 people were discharged after making a full recovery from the disease today, 611 people are being treated in ICUs across the state.

The breakup of the fresh cases are: Dakshina Kannada (218), Mysuru (187), Kalaburagi (183), Dharwad (183), Udupi (182), Vijayapura (175), Uttara Kannada (155), Bengaluru Rural (154), Hassan (151), Chikkaballapura (101), Davanagere (79), Yadagir (68), Raichuru (68), Kolar (68), Bidar (62), Gadag (61), Mandya (60), Bagalakote (57), Haveri (52), Shivamogga (42), Chikkamagaluru (42), Koppala (31), Tumakuru (27), Chamarajanagara (22), Ramanagara (20), Chitradurga (16), and Kodagu (9).

There are 55,388 active COVID-19 cases in the state. So far, a total of 33,750 have been discharged. Additionally, eight people have died of non-COVID causes.
