New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that Sannyasa Deeksha at Santhigiri is an unwavering commitment to women empowerment. The ordainment of Shishyapoojitha Amritha Jnana Thapaswini as Gurusthaneeya marks yet another step in this direction. It is a testament to the lofty ideals of Navjyothi Sri Karunakara Guru, said the Prime Minister in a message to Santhigiri Ashram wishing the 22 brahmacharinis who are taking sannyasa on Vijaya Dashami on October 24.

The Prime Minister highlighted that these 22 girls who are taking sannyasa are from different walks of life, and their sannyasa is a matter beyond caste, religion, class, color, and education. Founded five decades ago by Navjyothi Sri Karunakara Guru, Santhigiri Ashram is a hub of spiritual and social activities, and the followers of the Ashram foster a sense of peace and harmony in the community. The Ashram promotes the ideals of compassion and universal brotherhood, transcending religious boundaries, the Prime Minister said. The Prime Minister gave special greetings to each and every one who is taking Sannyasa.

Elaborate arrangements are being made in Santhigiri as part of the Sannyasa Deeksha ceremonies to be held on October 24. Important personalities of various religions and eminent personalities in the social and political fields will be present at the ceremony.
