“Manju”

Mysuru: Santhigiri Ashram General Secretary Swami Gururatnam Jnana Tapasvi will inaugurate the solar power plant installed at the Santhigiri Ashram Mysuru branch on March 24th the day of  full moon, online at 6 pm. The solar plant is installed on top of a 1,500-square-foot prayer hall at the Santhigiri Ashram’s Mysuru branch, located on the banks of the Kaveri River.

Presently, the ashram does not have any electricity system. Through this plant, the ashram will get more power than it needs for its operation. A new type of solar power plant has been constructed here which makes maximum use of environment-friendly recycling possibilities. The plant was established as a solution to the electricity shortage here on the recommendation of the ashram’s general secretary.

This solar project is being implemented with the CSR fund of the Reserve Bank of India. UTL Solar Panel has installed the solar power plant. 1,800 units of electricity per month can be generated from this solar power plant with an off-grid power generation capacity of 15 KW. The power will be transferred to the distribution line through a smart inverter system. It is expected that 100 percent of the electricity generated will be utilized.
