Stranded people from Meghalaya were to their hometown from Coimbatore

Coimbatore: A total number of 42 students and civilians from Meghalaya were transported home. Individuals from the Northern States who were working and studying in Coimbatore are being returned home by special trains due to the coronavirus threat.

The students and the civilians from Meghalaya have been sent to Chennai on 3 private buses from the Coimbatore District Collector’s office based on online registration from where they will board special trains to Meghalaya. They were served breakfast in the morning. The government will bear the cost of the travel.

Airimai Lyndoh & Bajamon Lhuid who are onboard to reach Meghalaya said they applied to the Meghalayan government for entering the state. They are working in a private Ayurveda Hospital at coimbatore. Upon approval, they submitted their application with the Tamil Nadu government and when accepted, they approached the Coimbatore district administration to start to their journey. They said that the Coimbatore district administration have made the necessary arrangements very cordialy to transport from Coimbatore to Chennai in a private vehicle and provide them with food.
