Santhigiri Ashram Gurusthaniya Accorded Huge Welcome in Chennai

Chennai: Amritha Jnana Thapaswini, Gurusthaniya Shishya Pujita of Santhigiri Ashram, who arrived in Chennai as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations, received a grand welcome at the Chennai airport. Dinesh Kumar, S. Prabhu Kumar, R.S. Lakshmi Ajith, Adv. Shelvi Rajesh, SM Gurudutt, Bhakthan, Santhi Muthumani , Dr. Gayathri, Mahesh Moorthi and Sagar Makhwana welcomed Shishya Poojitha with a bouquet.

This is the first time Shishya Poojita, the Word and Way of Spiritual Affairs of Santhigiri Ashram, is visiting Chennai. Shishya Poojtha leaves the Central Ashram only on rare occasions for the most important pilgrimages. Ashram President Swami Chaitanya Jnana Thapasvi, General Secretary Swami Gururetjnam Jnana Thapasvi, and around a hundred sannyasins, celibates and devotees are accompanying Shishya Poojitha on the pilgrimage. After visiting devotees’ homes in Chennai, today (06/01/2024), she will reach the Branch Ashram at Cheyyur, Chengalpet.

With the arrival of Shishya Poojitha, the ashram’s silver jubilee celebrations will begin in Chennai. People’s representatives, local people, and devotees will welcome Shishya Pujitha who will arrive at Cheyyur at noon with full Kumbham. She will perform the lamp-lighting ceremony of the Darshana Mandiram and open the Guru’s Dhyana Math for the devotees.

Tamil Nadu Speaker M. Appavu will inaugurate the proclamation meeting at 4 pm. State Minority Welfare Minister KS Mastan will formally announce the celebrations.

At 9 am on Sunday, January 7, Gurusthaniya will lay the foundation stone for the Prayer Hall (Prarthana Mandiram) which can be visited by anyone regardless of caste and creed. She will also lay the foundation stone for the Santhigiri Holistic Center, based on the new health philosophy of Ashram founder Navjyoti Sri Karunakara Guru, and the Santhigiri Vidya Bhavan, which incorporates innovative ideas in the field of education.

The general meeting to be held at 11 am will be inaugurated by Minister of Dairy Development Mano Thangaraj. Kerala State Food and Civil Supplies Minister G.R. Anil will be the special guest. Former Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan, Panyur Babu MLA, and former MP G. Selvam presided over the function. Vijila Satyanath, Gokulam Group Chairman Gokulam Gopalan, and many prominent people inside and outside the state will attend the function.

The General Secretary of the Ashram, Swami Gururetnam Jnana Thapasvi, will felicitate renowned music director Gangai Amaran, actor Thalaivasal Vijay, and AVA Group of Companies Managing Director AV Anup with the Rajath Jubilee Award at the meetings on January 6 and 7.

In connection with the Silver Jubilee celebrations free medical examination and distribution of medicines will be conducted under the joint auspices of Thiruvananthapuram Santhigiri Siddha Medical College and Chennai National Institute of Siddha as part of the ‘Makkal Health’ project on that day from 9 am to 2 pm. Famous actor Thalaivasal Vijay will inaugurate the medical camp. In the evening there will be a lamp procession, satsang, and cultural programs. On January 8 afternoon, after worship and prayers, Shishya Poojitha will return to Thiruvananthapuram.
