The Paurnami Vratam is the best of all Vratams in Hinduism which is observed for getting divine help and spiritual enlightenment. It is celebrated as Poornima in South India. It is believed that prayer and fasting on Paurnami is a solution for the sins in life. Pournami Vratam is also beneficial for pleasing pitrus (ancestral souls) and divine spirits.
