Came seeking an old friend,got a new life from Santhigiri : Swami Janatheerthan Jnana Thapaswi

The first time I came to Santhigiri Ashram was to meet one of my friend (today’s Swami Sayoojyanath Jnana Thapaswi) and take him back home and that is how I got a chance to meet Maha Guru Navajyothi Sree Karunakara Guru and later Guru become my guide in life.

Today being the second day of Sanyasa Deeksha Celebrations,
a meeting was held at Spiritual Zone Conference Hall (27/09/2022). Swami shared a few words on the subject – My experience with Guru.

During my stay at Bombay, once I came to Ashram to visit my friend . At that time everyone was busy as the concrete works of Sahakarnamandiram was going on. I too joined my friend in the construction activities. I was not able to go back as my hands got burnt due to cement allergy Swami added.

The return trip was planned the next day. But the next day also I was fully engaged right from the morning. So I could not travel and I stayed for three days. After two days of working my hands were in pain so I took rest on the third day. At this time I met Shri. Devarajan who accompanied me for Guru Darshanam. The moment I saw Guru, I felt some deep intimacy and love towards Him. Guru spoke about the deity practices and worships and mentioned therein that there is an experiential aspect here and there are even children who can talk to the gods and goddesses .

Swami said that Guru’s conversation on that day was answer to the questions that had been in his mind for ages. Swami also said that his previous name was Bijoy and Guru had once told him that he could not live with this name. Later the name was changed during Sanysa Deeksha.

Swami concluded that this is what Guru had intended all along and he was happy with this life that Guru had given him.
